Role Summary
The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day management, quality assurance, implementation, and reporting requirements of the Solid Waste Management (SWM) programme in Yadgiri District.
The role will involve directly supervising Project Coordinators and coordinating with government officials, elected representatives, communities, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective programme implementation.
The position will involve a combination of fieldwork and office work, with field time depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with government officials and elected representatives at district and taluk levels for effective implementation of the SWM programme.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret SWM-related data and prepare reports and insights to support district-level decision-making.
- Organise review meetings with government officials and elected representatives to monitor programme progress and address implementation challenges.
- Support the District Administration in conducting baseline surveys and preparing reports.
- Participate in the District Solid Waste Management Committee and attend relevant meetings.
- Organise training programmes and workshops for community enablers with support from the District Administration.
- Identify and collaborate with relevant organisations, NGOs, and citizen initiatives to expand programme reach and impact.
- Design and manage project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks.
- Guide, monitor, and provide regular feedback to Project Coordinators for effective programme delivery.
- Monitor and approve budgeted programme expenditures while ensuring financial discipline.
- Monitor cash-flow projections and report monthly expenditure, actual cash flow, and variances to the Regional Manager.
- Coordinate services across programme activities to improve effectiveness and alignment with project objectives.
- Participate in recruitment, interviews, and selection of programme staff in consultation with the Regional Manager.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, partners, government stakeholders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate cooperation among government departments, NGOs, community-based organisations, and citizen initiatives to achieve programme objectives.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
- Provide inputs and support in developing project collaterals such as posters, pamphlets, short films, and other communication materials.
- Conduct volunteer and employee engagement activities based on sustainable waste management themes.
- Regularly train local stakeholders involved in the programme on sustainable waste management.

Preferred Profile
- 5β8 years of relevant experience in project/programme management.
- Experience in Solid Waste Management, Environment, Sustainability, or Development Sector preferred.
- Experience working with government departments and local stakeholders.
- Strong team management and coordination skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake field visits across Yadgiri District.
- Knowledge of Kannada and English preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
