As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer – Thermal Power & Renewable Energy to join our Energy Business in Bangkok, Thailand. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of thermal power and renewable energy projects across the region, supporting project development, engineering, technical due diligence, Owner's Engineer (OE), Independent Engineer (IE), and Lender's Engineer assignments, as well as project execution from concept through commissioning.

Job Description

  • Support the development, engineering, and execution of thermal power and renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on gas engines and combined cycle power plants, and exposure to waste-to-energy (WtE), solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other emerging technologies.
  • Prepare conceptual engineering designs, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations for thermal power and renewable energy projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of engineering deliverables, including layouts, thermal and process flow diagrams, technical specifications, calculations, and design reports.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors, and equipment suppliers throughout project development and execution.
  • Support technical due diligence assignments for project acquisitions, financing, and investment decisions.
  • Support Owner's Engineer (OE), Independent Engineer (IE), and Lender's Engineer assignments during project development, construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Monitor project progress, engineering quality, schedules, technical risks, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in site visits, factory inspections, construction monitoring, commissioning, and acceptance testing as required.
  • Review contractor submissions, technical documentation, method statements, inspection reports, and as-built documentation.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, project documentation, and client presentations.
  • Stay up to date with thermal power and renewable energy technologies, international engineering standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in thermal power plant engineering or project execution.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in gas engines and combined cycle power projects.
  • Exposure to renewable energy projects, including waste-to-energy (WtE), solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), is considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of thermal power plant technologies, renewable energy technologies, and project development processes.
  • Experience supporting engineering design, feasibility studies, technical due diligence, or Owner's Engineer (OE), Independent Engineer (IE), or Lender's Engineer assignments is an advantage.
  • Understanding of international standards and codes applicable to thermal power and renewable energy projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary and international project teams.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, inspections, and project support when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
