Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and strategic Project Director to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) in Doha, Qatar. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the governance, execution, and optimization of our project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and delivering measurable business value. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, analytical expertise, and a commitment to driving operational excellence across all project initiatives.

• Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent project delivery standards across the organization
• Develop and implement strategic project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce project risks
• Oversee the management of multiple concurrent projects and programs, ensuring they remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business priorities
• Conduct comprehensive project portfolio analysis and provide executive leadership with strategic recommendations for resource allocation and project prioritization
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing PMO teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
• Manage stakeholder relationships at all organizational levels, communicating project status, risks, and outcomes with clarity and precision
• Analyze project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization
• Implement risk management and mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful delivery outcomes
• Collaborate with department heads and project sponsors to align project objectives with organizational strategy and operational capabilities
• Prepare and present detailed reports, dashboards, and business cases to senior management and the board of directors

Qualifications

• Minimum 25 years of experience, out of which 5 years in the GCC preferably managing roads, infrastructure, aviation and rail projects.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing PMO frameworks, governance structures, and project management methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, complex project portfolios with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
• Arabic Speaking Candidates will be highly desirable 
• Candidate base in Qatar, or previously having work in Qatar will be highly desirable
