Job Overview

Every day, Ocean Legacy transforms plastic recovered from beaches, shorelines, ports, and the ocean into high-quality materials used in new products.

If you're looking for work that is active, hands-on, and makes a real environmental difference, we'd love to meet you. No two days are exactly alike, and you'll be part of a team helping build Canada's circular economy.

Training is provided—we're looking for people with a great attitude and a strong work ethic.

This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in manufacturing, environmental services, or the circular economy.

The job consists of processing marine debris such as rope, buoys, barrels, oyster baskets, and styrofoam through different processing stations. The position requires the team member to follow standard operating procedures, adopt safe work practices, and maintain a clean work environment in accordance with BC Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Because we process marine debris recovered directly from oceans and shorelines, the work is hands-on and can be messy at times. Appropriate PPE is provided, and you'll play an important role in giving discarded materials a second life.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Receive and sort marine plastic debris.
  • Operate shredders, grinders, and processing equipment (training provided).
  • Use hand and power tools safely.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Keep the facility clean and organized.
  • Organize, track, and document product material in different stages of development.
  • Work as part of a supportive production team.

Ideal Candidate

  • Good work ethic and work endurance;
  • Punctual and reliable;
  • Works well in team environments;
  • Strong communication skills;

  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude;
  • Comfortable working around large machinery;
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks;

  • WHMIS;
