Position Description

The Production Manager serves as a critical leader within the Supply Chain and Operations function, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production lifecycle across our agricultural and processing operations. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, this role ensures that production targets are met efficiently, safely, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality and traceability standards.

Positioned at the core of operational execution, this role safeguards the organisation’s ability to scale by optimizing workflows, managing resources, and driving productivity. The Production Manager works closely with field teams, warehouse operations, and leadership to translate commercial demand into actionable production plans.

This role sits at the intersection of operational strategy, resource management, and team leadership, ensuring that Complete Farmer consistently delivers on its production commitments while maintaining efficient and compliant systems across all touchpoints.

What You’ll Do:

- Develop and implement production plans and schedules aligned with commercial forecasts, buyer requirements, and seasonal agricultural cycles.
- Oversee end-to-end production workflows—from field harvesting and processing to packaging and dispatch—ensuring operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Establish and monitor key production metrics (yield, throughput, waste reduction, and cost per unit) to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage resource allocation, including labour, equipment, and raw materials, to optimise output and reduce inefficiencies.
- Ensure all production activities comply with internal SOPs, safety protocols, and international certification standards (e.g., Global G.A.P., HACCP).
- Partner with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that output meets Gold Standard specifications and buyer quality requirements.
- Lead preventive maintenance planning and equipment calibration schedules to minimise production disruptions.
- Champion lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives across all operational sites.
- Oversee inventory management and stock control for raw materials and finished goods within production facilities.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop production supervisors, team leads, and operational staff.
- Foster a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

What You’ll Bring:

- At least 5 years of experience in production management, operations management, or a similar leadership role, preferably within agriculture, FMCG, or food processing.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, lean methodologies, and supply chain integration.
- Experience developing and implementing operational SOPs, managing budgets, and driving performance improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to support production monitoring and decision-making.
- Exposure to IoT-based agricultural systems, digital monitoring tools, or ERP systems will be an added advantage.
