Job Description

As a Production Artist, you will play a key role in creating new designs, developments, and techniques using combinations of materials and technologies to generate unique, innovative products for the company. You will quantify and document color requirements, establish standard operating procedures, and review emerging technologies to ensure optimal product development, sampling, and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

This position is an on-site role located in Liverpool, NY.

  • Quantify, document, and establish color specifications, profiles, and matching standards for print processes associated with sublimated products, textiles, and printed substrate materials.

  • Assess incoming requests and review printed samples against technical design parameters, performing necessary color corrections to verify acceptance to customer and industry standards.

  • Coordinate with merchandising, design, R&D, and commercialization teams to ensure prototype development, seasonal line launches, and product commercialization meet design, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

  • Establish standard operating procedures and perform documented setup parameters for print-related equipment (including printers and calendars) to ensure proper color management in sampling and production.

  • Research and evaluate emerging print, sublimation, laser, and lamination technologies through trade show research and supplier visits while supporting NetSuite integration and Esko utilization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Graphic Design, Print Media, or equivalent from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of related experience and/or training required.

  • Technical experience preferred in one or more areas: textiles, embroidery, printing, coating, adhesives, film, or packaging.

  • Experience with print processes associated with sublimated products and textiles in the apparel industry is a plus.

  • Demonstrated expertise in color management, sample print review, color correction execution, and setting up parameters for print-related equipment.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $55,575 - $82,992 / year.

The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
