About this role

Product Manager — Core Platform (Customer Portal & Data Delivery) Build the platform every customer runs on — from the portal they open to the data they trust. [Location: Irvine, CA · Hybrid]   ·   [Full-time] About Field AI Field AI builds field foundation models that bring real autonomy to robots working in the physical world — on construction sites, across facilities, and out in the field. We automate the dull, dirty, and dangerous work across the entire lifecycle of an asset, delivering immediate value to the people who build, operate, and own it, and turning every piece of data we collect into queryable insight. About the role The Core Platform is the horizontal spine of Field AI: one portal, one data pipeline, and one reliability standard that every customer in every industry runs on. As our second Core PM, you'll own the Customer Portal and the Data Delivery pipeline end to end — from the moment a robot captures data in the field to the moment it lands, on time and on SLA, in front of the customer. You'll work alongside the Lead Product Manager to keep the platform coherent as four vertical product lines pull on it, making sure everything we build once transfers everywhere. This is a great role for a PM early in their career who wants ownership of real surface area, daily partnership with engineering, and a fast path to more. What you'll do Own the customer problem run discovery with customers, field teams, and deployment engineers, and turn what you hear into a prioritized, evidence-backed problem list, not a wish list. Own the roadmap and the scope for your areas define, sequence, and commit scope with clear acceptance criteria, replacing vague, half-finished requirements with crisp ones engineering can build. Partner with engineering day to day embed with the HRI and Platform & Data Delivery teams, and lead the technical discussions that turn a customer problem into the most elegant solution, not the first one. Run a disciplined intake rank needs in priority order: customer feedback first, then field and deployment engineers, then development engineers, so the loudest wish never outranks the real need. Keep the platform coherent  field cross-vertical asks from the vertical PMs, spot duplication, and make sure shared capabilities are built once and transfer everywhere. Calibrate with data own platform usage analytics and SLA metrics; close the loop with usage data and field feedback, retire what isn't landing, and double down on what is. Support the planning cadence help the Lead PM run the L-cycle planning process and consolidate vertical roadmaps into one company roadmap. What you'll own The Customer Portal (app.fieldai.com) — the front door every customer walks through — in partnership with the HRI engineering team. Data Delivery and SLA & Reliability — the pipeline that turns field capture into on-time, trustworthy customer deliverables — in partnership with the Platform & Data Delivery engineering team. Contribution to shared Core surfaces reports and insights, FieldAssist, and mission tooling  alongside the Lead Core PM. What we're looking for Product management experience ( 2+ years) — as a PM, or in an adjacent role (TPM, engineer, or designer who has shipped product) — with at least one web or SaaS product shipped end to end. Technical fluency — you're comfortable in discussions about APIs, data pipelines, and reliability metrics, and can hold your own in a technical design review. Deep customer empathy and strong discovery skills — you turn messy field reality into a prioritized problem list, not a wish list. Evidence of ownership, you've defined scope, committed to it, and delivered, even if the scope was a feature rather than a whole product line. Excellent written communication — crisp PRDs, clear acceptance criteria, and status the whole team can act on. Low ego, high curiosity, you'd rather ask the question that unblocks the team than look like the smartest person in the room. Bonus points Robotics, IoT, autonomy, computer vision, or hardware exposure — a strong plus. Experience with B2B customer portals, dashboards, or data-delivery products. Familiarity with SLAs, observability, or reliability engineering concepts.
