Position Summary

The Product Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, product analysis, and engineering expertise throughout the product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer through mass production.

The role focuses on improving product yield, cost, quality, reliability, and performance while ensuring successful product qualification and transfer from R&D to manufacturing. The position works closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Test Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and customers to resolve product-related issues and drive continuous improvement.

The Product Engineer will also support new product development, product qualification, failure analysis, engineering changes, test process improvements, and customer qualification activities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Β 

  • Manage and support new transceiver product transfers from NPI through qualification and mass-volume production.

  • Provide technical support and data analysis for product-related issues, yield, cost, quality, and reliability improvements.

  • Support pilot manufacturing activities, including product assembly, testing, evaluation, and qualification.

  • Collaborate with R&D teams on the design, qualification, implementation, and optimization of test processes.

  • Evaluate product yield, cost, performance, quality, and production readiness prior to mass production release.

  • Develop and maintain product engineering documentation, specifications, procedures, and systematic debug guides.

  • Drive product re-engineering, cost reduction, yield improvement, quality improvement, and reliability improvement initiatives.

  • Initiate and support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), BOM changes, test process updates, procedures, and specification revisions.

  • Conduct data analysis and statistical studies related to product performance, quality, yield, and process improvement.

  • Perform root cause and failure analysis on product and test-related issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • Provide technical support for customer qualification activities and RMA investigations.

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and customers on product qualification and technical issues.

  • Support production teams in troubleshooting product, process, and test equipment issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support manufacturing operations to minimize production disruption and avoid missed shipments.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, company policies, procedures, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Apply Risk-Based Thinking in the planning and execution of tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Communications, Mechatronics, Applied Science, Physics, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, NPI, Product Transfer, or Production Engineering.

  • Experience in semiconductor, PCBA, electronics manufacturing, IC fabrication, or product testing environments is preferred.

  • Experience in NPI qualification and product transfer from R&D to mass production is an advantage.

  • Experience in product failure analysis, yield improvement, and manufacturing process improvement is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of product and test engineering principles.

  • Good understanding of semiconductor, electronics, PCBA, and manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of BOM maintenance and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.

  • Good understanding of statistical quality tools and data analysis.

  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Understanding of basic product and test methodologies.

  • Ability to troubleshoot product and test equipment issues.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret product performance and yield data.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
