What the Role Looks Like
  • Identify and develop domestic suppliers across India for industrial raw materials
  • Source and develop suppliers for Ferro Alloys, Noble Ferro Alloys, Bulk Ferro Alloys, Virgin Metals
  • Evaluate suppliers on quality, capacity, capability and commercials
  • Drive supplier qualification, onboarding and first procurement
  • Manage RFQs, vendor negotiations and closures across clusters
  • Conduct vendor meetings, plant visits and quality checks
  • Develop customized grades and Private Label sources

Job Summary
We are looking for an execution-oriented Procurement professional to drive domestic supplier development and RFQ closure across industrial raw materials. The role involves identifying and developing new suppliers, evaluating manufacturing capabilities, negotiating commercials, coordinating quality checks and trials, and driving suppliers from identification to successful procurement. The individual will also work closely with internal teams to close RFQs across clusters and develop domestic sources for customized and Private Label products.

Key Responsibilities
1. Domestic Supplier Development
  • Identify and hunt new domestic manufacturers and suppliers across India
  • Develop suppliers for Ferro Alloys, Noble Ferro Alloys, Bulk Ferro Alloys, Virgin Metals
  • Evaluate suppliers based on product range, manufacturing capability, capacity, quality and commercial competitiveness
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic manufacturers
2. Supplier Qualification & Onboarding
  • Conduct vendor meetings, plant visits and physical inspections
  • Coordinate quality checks, samples and material trials
  • Evaluate suppliers and drive them through the qualification process
  • Coordinate with internal teams for supplier onboarding and first successful procurement
3. RFQ Management & Commercial Negotiation
  • Work on daily RFQs across North, West and South clusters along with the procurement team
  • Source competitive offers from domestic suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing and other commercial terms
  • Coordinate internally and drive RFQs towards closure
4. Market Intelligence & Supplier Research
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers and sourcing opportunities
  • Track supplier pricing, product availability and market movements
  • Identify opportunities to improve sourcing competitiveness and supplier availability
5. Vendor Management & Coordination
  • Maintain regular follow-ups with suppliers on pricing, samples, trials and procurement
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of supplier development activities
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier interactions, evaluations and development status

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good B2B communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong follow-up and ownership
  • Ability to conduct market research and supplier hunting
  • Basic commercial understanding
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
  • Willingness to travel for vendor meetings and plant visits
  • Interest in Metal / Manufacturing / Industrial raw materials
