About this role

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Process Operator

 As a Process Operator you will be responsible for operating a wastewater treatment dewatering filter press to separate solids from liquids to support operations across the facility. 

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practices
  • Utilizes thorough knowledge of loading and unloading procedures in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local regulations
  • Assists in unloading dump trailers, roll-off boxes and tankers of hazardous materials into appropriate treatment pits
  • Uses water hoses to decontaminate trucks in CBW/CBR buildings, operates reagent delivery systems, and sump pumps
  • Reviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials
  • Utilizes understanding of if chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions or other potential issues
  • Maintains an understanding of and adherence to related State and Federal regulations for waste management
  • Operates a fork truck, bobcat with attachments and other Arcwood vehicles as needed
  • Maintains accurate operating logs and associated documentation
  • Completes basic spill cleanup with little direction
  • Maintains general housekeeping including keeping operating areas, walls, pipes, and floor in clean and safe conditions
  • Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and a respirator
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education

- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience

  • 1+ years of related experience (required)
  • 24-40-hour HAZWOPER certificate (preferred)
