Are you a nurturing, passionate educator who loves helping preschoolers grow, explore, and thrive? We're looking for a dedicated EEC Certified Preschool Teacher to join our warm early childhood education center in Kingston. You'll thrive in this role if you have:
- EEC Preschool Certification or CDA required
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
- A nurturing demeanor and a love for preschoolers and their development
- A minimum of one year of experience working in a preschool classroom, supporting age-appropriate curriculum, social-emotional growth, and cognitive and motor development
Some requirements of the role include:
- Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within the operating hours of the school, including opening and closing shifts
- Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
- Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset
As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with your co-teacher to prepare curriculum, lesson plans, and materials
- Providing engaging, age-appropriate activities that support each preschooler's development
- Keeping parents informed and building positive relationships with children and families
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly classroom environment
- Assisting with daily routines, including meals, bathroom needs, and naptime
- Tracking children's progress and completing required assessments
- Maintaining your EEC-required professional development hours and PQ registry
- Helping preschoolers build confidence, independence, and early social and communication skills
