Policy Officer
About this role
About Triangle
Triangle is dedicated to bridging the gap between policy-making, empirical research, and media to yield enduring outcomes for our clients, create a fulfilling environment for our team, and make a positive impact on the communities where we operate. Through our policy and journalism arm—Badil—we utilize incisive reporting, evidence-based analysis, and diverse communication strategies to raise awareness, shape narratives, and influence policy solutions across a wide range of topics. By combining rigorous inquiry with effective storytelling, we seek to empower individuals and communities to have a more significant influence on the policy decisions that shape their lives.
As an expanding organization, we are looking for driven individuals who can bring their expertise, ambition, and fresh ideas to strengthen our mission. Our work environment is multilingual and highly collaborative, with staff dispersed across multiple time zones and countries. Therefore, we seek colleagues who can work independently, manage projects, and deliver exceptional results. In return, we offer substantial autonomy and opportunities for professional growth. If this aligns with what you've been looking for, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Position Summary
The Policy Officer will lead the development of political and policy analysis, writing, and external representation for Badil, while also supporting Triangle's wider project and consultancy work as needed. This is a substantive, ownership-level role: the Policy Officer will independently identify and pursue a coherent area of political and policy focus on Lebanon (and ideally Syria), represent the organization publicly, and contribute to business development, while working under the guidance of Badil's directors and/or team leaders.
We are looking for someone with deep, first-hand grounding in Lebanese and regional politics, who understands the progressive orientation of the organization and can engage with senior colleagues on political developments.

- Draft policy papers, briefs, reports, feature articles, op-eds, and other written materials in line with Badil's editorial and stylistic standards.
- Conduct interviews and original research and integrate this with desk research and quantitative or policy data to produce evidence-based, contextually grounded analysis.
2. External Representation and Media
- Represent Badil in media appearances, panels, briefings, and public forums, articulating the organization's research and political positions clearly and credibly.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, analysts, officials, and civil society contacts relevant to the organization's work.
3. Project and Output Ownership
- Take ownership of assigned projects and outputs from conceptualization through to publication and dissemination, primarily within Badil's editorial pipeline, and contributing to Triangle's wider project work as required.
- Coordinate editorial calendars, production schedules, and content milestones with team leaders and directors.
- Manage people and outputs to ensure timely, high-quality delivery, including guidance to more junior researchers and analysts where relevant.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with editors, designers, and digital media staff to ensure coherence and high production values across deliverables.
- Communicate with field staff, consultants, clients, and partners via email, video conferencing, or phone to gather input and align on goals.
