How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Are you ready to lead operations that directly contribute to a sustainable energy future? As a Plant Manager, you will play a vital role in our mission by guiding our Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant to peak efficiency, safety, and profitability. Your leadership will directly bridge operational excellence with our broader business growth by ensuring maximum green energy output and robust financial sustainability.

If you are passionate about the waste-to-energy sector and want to champion continuous improvement and impactful capital projects, we want you on our team.

Location and Scope: Based at the Northwick Power site in Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, this critical role oversees the entire plant, encompassing engineering, operations, and administration. You will report directly to the General Manager and lead a dedicated 12-person team. Travel expectations include occasional travel within the UK (Midlands) and, rarely, the EU. You will be required to be On-Call every 1 in 4 weeks, covering a 7 day period. A Call Out payment and salary is based on the experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Optimize Plant operations through strategic feeding plans and active biological management to maximize profitability. You will manage digestate processing to maintain PAS 110 compliance and lead the Engineering Team in daily and ad-hoc task prioritization.
  • Lead Strategy & Financial Growth: Lead business planning, annual budgeting, and monthly financial reporting in conjunction with the Finance team. You will own capital projects and ensure the timely submission of Regulator data required for green energy valorization.
  • Champion Safety & Compliance: Guarantee strict adherence to all HSE policies, Codes of Conduct, and regulatory requirements across the site. This includes comprehensive risk management (Job Hazard Analysis, RAMS), audits, and inspections.
  • Empower the Team: Coordinate and animate all site stakeholders, taking full responsibility for the training, qualifications, and welfare of your 12-person team. You will actively lead continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

What You Bring to the Team:

Must Have:

Who You Are: You are a resilient, motivated self-starter with a strong safety mindset and exceptional attention to detail. You communicate effectively across all levels of a business, adapting your personal style to build strong relationships and keep teams informed. Armed with a diplomatic approach and a continuous improvement mindset, you excel at analyzing complex information to proactively identify obstacles, propose solutions, and delegate tasks effectively.

Northwick Power is an industrial processor of food waste located on the north of Gloucestershire close to Chipping Campden and the plant has been designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. Through a process called Anaerobic Digestion it utilises the waste as a raw material to create methane, which in turn is used to generate electricity and gas both of which are exported to the national grids and are 100% renewable.
