Job Description

PACT Group’s Household and Industrial packaging division specialised in the manufacture and supply of packaging for the Paint & Construction, Auto Fuel, AgriChem, mining and Household and Cleaning industries. Our products are produced in various sizes including plastic bottles, jerry cans with closures and pourers, small and large pails, cubes, drums and microdrums at our Villawood site.

About the role 

We are seeking a Plant Manager to drive, and lead initiatives required to achieve delivery of the site cost budget while using a continuous improvement outlook.  The role is accountable for P&L cost lines, achieved through production forecasting (S&OP), driving, and improving Safety outcomes, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain and reliability across the site. With full accountability for the operations and overall management and performance of the site, you’ll bring your hands-on leadership approach to the full supply chain, from  materials management through to delivery to customers. 

You’ll utilise your leadership expertise to build a culture that has a strong Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence mindset, driving towards improved performance, productivity and efficiency, ensuring operations are both cost and time effective whilst aligning with quality and safety requirements.

About you

With strong people management skills and technical aptitude, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification as well as high motivation and commitment to quality, people and plant performance as well as customer service excellence.  

Your skills and experience

  • Appropriate post graduate qualifications in Business and/or Engineering
  • Senior leadership experience and tenure
  • Extensive experience with profit and loss responsibility (senior operational manager)
  • Experienced commercial negotiator in a competitive environment
  • Superior communication skills. A personable leader across all levels (from shop floor to the board room)
  • Strong manufacturing background with experience in the plastic moulding industry
  • Materials Handling Industry background
  • Plastics Industry background
  • Education includes a trade background

 

Qualifications

  • Production and Manufacturing Management qualifications preferred.
  • Exposure and use of SAP in a manufacturing environment well regarded.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and people management skills
