Summary:

The per diem Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of licensed Pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the Pharmacy Department. Additionally, provides a high level of assistance in distribution, dispensing, and compounding of non-sterile medications, and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

Processes, prepares, labels, documents, packs, and coordinates delivery of prescriptions to customers including point of saleCompounds non-sterile medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacistAssists with inventory management activities, including receiving of medications and supplies. Maintains stock and processes outdates as required. Stocks, posts, and pulls inventory and pharmacy supplies as needed. Processes orders using pharmacy automation systems as neededAssists with customer service needs, including answering telephones, processing prescriptions per patient or provider request, delivery coordination, and other pharmacy programsAccurately fills prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Reviews patient medical information for completeness and patient medication history under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Performs data entry and resolves pharmacy insurance claims and rejectionsPerforms activities related to pharmacy technician scope of practice.

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
