Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / EC Aide
Reports To: Principal / Exceptional Children Teacher / School Nurse
Job Summary
Provides 1-on-1 or small-group personal care and mobility support to students with special needs, physical disabilities, or complex health conditions throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist students with daily living needs, including toileting, diapering, feeding, hygiene, and transfers.
- Student Support: Accompany assigned student(s) in classrooms, recess, cafeteria, and during bus loading/unloading.
- Behavior & Safety: Implement IEP support strategies, maintain visual supervision, and ensure student safety.
- Health & Logging: Help monitor student well-being and track daily care routines following FERPA privacy rules.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification (CNA listing a plus).
- Clearances: Pass background check, drug screening, and TB health test.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, transfer, and position students.
