About this role
Responsibilities:
The Payroll Officer is responsible for:
- Facilitating and processing employee, changes, and upgrades as they occur across the business.
- Responding to payroll queries including Interpreting awards, legislation, and enterprise bargaining agreements.
- All payroll transactions are processed efficiently within the HR and Payroll operations including the storage of documentation.
- Maintenance and upkeep of the payroll spreadsheet database (including new starters) by collecting, calculating, and entering data in the appropriate software.
- Work within a broader finance team environment, support the business Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders through the Payroll process.
- Upholding a professional attitude and approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.
Skills Abilities and Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Basic Knowledge) and knowledge of a working Accounting/Payroll system is essential.
- Previous payroll experience is required. (1-3 years experience)
- Experience in interpreting Awards, Agreements, and the relevant Legislation. Familiarity with Awards (EBA - employment benefit agreement) (NEP - National Employment Standards) is a nice to have.
- Excellent attention to detail, data entry, organisational skills and recordkeeping is essential.
- Previous experience in communicating across multiple departments and key stakeholders.
- Certificate III in Financial Services will be highly regarded
