About this role

Why This Role Matters

As Rippling expands its global footprint, launching seamless payroll and expense products around the world depends directly on acquiring and maintaining key regulatory licenses.

In this role, you won't just file paperwork, you'll serve as a core legal & compliance partner, helping us navigate complex international regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA, MAS, FINTRAC, Central Bank of Ireland) and shaping how modern fintech compliance operates at scale.

What You’ll Impact

  • Drive Global Expansion: Assist with end-to-end license acquisition for e-money, payment institution, and lending authorizations across priority international jurisdictions.
  • Manage Regulatory Operations: Oversee ongoing reporting, regulatory examinations, annual renewals, and filings across various global regulatory systems.
  • Bridge Product & Compliance: Partner directly with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure new payment capabilities comply with evolving local laws without sacrificing user experience.
  • Build Scalable Processes: Work alongside U.S. licensing team members to streamline cross-border regulatory operations and build efficient, repeatable compliance workflows.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in legal, compliance, regulatory affairs, or paralegal roles within a financial institution, tech company, or law firm.
  • Hands-on regulatory exposure: Practical experience with licensing, money transmission, e-money, lending, or regulatory reporting.
  • Project management strength: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and a track record of driving multi-stakeholder projects to completion.
  • Clear communicator: Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable guidance for non-legal teams.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have):

  • Direct experience with international regulatory regimes (e.g., FCA, MAS, FINTRAC, AUSTRAC, Central Bank of Ireland).
  • Familiarity with the NMLS system or international regulatory portals.
