Job Description
Fearrington Village is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Pizza Cook to join our culinary team at The Roost. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking our wood-fired pizzas while maintaining high standards for quality, consistency, cleanliness, and guest service.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, cheeses, toppings, and other ingredients.
- Stretch, assemble, and cook pizzas according to established recipes and standards.
- Safely operate and maintain the pizza oven and kitchen equipment.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, cooking times, and presentation.
- Keep the pizza station clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
- Assist with prep, opening, closing, and general kitchen duties.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary and service teams during busy shifts.
This is a part-time position with hours based on the seasonal operating schedule of The Roost. Fearrington Village is an equal opportunity employer.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Previous pizza, line-cook, or professional kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and around a high-temperature pizza oven.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
