Job Description:

Applies various types of paints, stains, and wall coverings throughout the facility using proper techniques. Installs handrails, corner guards, wall protection, and wall décor. Replaces ceiling tiles and ceiling grids as needed. Uses good judgment in accomplishing routine and emergency work order repairs, prioritizing effectively. Performs minor building maintenance, flooring repair, installation of cabinetry, sheetrock work, and wall repairs following safety standards. Maintains a stock inventory of standard paints used throughout the campus. Keeps the work environment clean, neat, and safe. Participates actively in team-building exercises and programs within the department with a positive attitude. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the proper techniques for painting and color matching.
  • Ability to paint, paper, patch and repair walls utilizing materials such as sheetrock, paints, stains, and varnishes in a professional manner.
  • Craftsmanship in making, reworking, repairing, and installing cabinetry, cupboards, and drawers.
  • Ability to perform minor building maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of preparation and use of paints, epoxies, resins, and other coatings associated with industrial painting.
  • Knowledge of regulations regarding handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials; safety work practices; hand tools, and air-operated equipment used in the workplace.
  • Proficiency with painting tools, power tools, saws, drills, routers, miter saw, and other departmental tools.
  • Basic understanding of plastering, sheetrock/Duoro Rock installation, and tiling.
  • Ability to paint and finish walls and door frames.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Organizational, verbal interpersonal, customer relations, and grammar/spelling skills.
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding (manual) and computer (visual) usage.



    Education:
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]



    Work Experience:
  • 1+ experience as a painter [Preferred]



    Additional Information:
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
    - High School Grad or equivalent OR work experience in lieu of education


    Licenses and Certifications:
  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]

Pay Range:

$19.96 - $37.11
