Merco, M27 8UW, Manchester Area We are looking for an Out of Hours Area Manager to oversee a number of client sites outside of normal office hours. The role will involve supporting cleaning teams, maintaining clear communication with staff and management, and ensuring all sites continue to meet Merco and client standards. Responsibilities will include visiting sites, delivering cleaning stock and equipment, completing site audits and quality checks, supporting staff inductions, arranging holiday and sickness cover, and responding to any operational issues that arise during out-of-hours periods. You will also support with shift changes, staff attendance, basic equipment issues and ensuring any concerns are reported and followed up promptly. The role requires someone who is organised, reliable and proactive, with the confidence to manage situations independently while keeping the wider management team informed. Flexibility is essential, as working hours will include early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends, depending on operational requirements. Out-of-hours calls will be diverted to the Area Manager, who will be responsible for responding to staff and site queries, dealing with urgent operational issues, arranging cover where required, and escalating any serious matters to the relevant manager. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites will be required.
