Helping Hands Calliope is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Coordinator to join our growing Helping Hands service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll shape culture, drive quality, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and your team.

This is a permanent, part-time role (35 hours per week) working across split shifts, Monday to Friday, including 5 hours of dedicated non‑contact administrative time to support your success.

Service hours include:

  • Rise Then Shine: 6:30am – 9:15am
  • Stay and Play: 2:45pm – 6:00pm
  • School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am – 6:00pm

đŸ«Â About Helping Hands Calliope

Helping Hands Calliope is a well-established, community-focused service with a strong family feel, supporting around 30–45 children each day. The service has been running for nine years and has recently completed an A&R, with an independent kitchen and office space to support the team. You’ll also have great support from the previous Coordinator, who has recently been promoted to Mobile Coordinator and will continue to be involved with the service.

About your new role

As a Coordinator, you’ll be leading a team of passionate Educators and overseeing an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership: 

  • Design and lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
  • Take ownership of rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration, with time allocated to do this well.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
  • Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
  • Be supported by experienced Regional Managers and a dedicated Support Office so you’re never doing it alone.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for? 

If you have a passion for supporting children, we’d love to hear from you! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
  • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)  
  • A natural leader who enjoys guiding a team and helping others grow. 
  • Strong communication skills—you’ll be leading by example! 
  • A team player who inspires others and encourages growth. 
  • You have (or are willing to obtain) a National Police Check and Working with Children Check. 
  • Australian work rights.
