Helping Hands Calliope is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Assistant Coordinator to join our growing Helping Hands service. This is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career, develop your leadership skills and play a key role in creating a service where children and Educators thrive.
Permanent part-time | 30 hours per week | MondayâFriday split shifts

- Rise Then Shine: 6:30am â 9:00am
- Stay and Play: 2:30pm â 6:00pm
- School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am â 6:00pm

đ«Â About Calliope State School Helping HandsÂ
Calliope Helping Hands is a close-knit service within a supportive school community, with strong relationships and engaged families. We typically welcome 30â45 children, with higher attendances some mornings and during school holidays. Based in the school hall with an exclusive admin office, youâll join a collaborative team focused on building positive relationships and creating meaningful experiences for children.
About your new role
As an Assistant Coordinator, youâll help lead a team of passionate Educators and oversee an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership:Â
- Design and help lead a vibrant, childâcentred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
- Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration.
- Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
- Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
- Be supported by an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager, so youâre never doing it alone.
Qualifications
Could this be you?
We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:Â
- Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
- National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko) Â
- Enjoys working with children and making a positive impactâŻÂ
- Communicates clearly and confidentlyâŻÂ
- Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership roleâŻÂ
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children checkâŻÂ
- Has Australian work rightsÂ
