Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the Vietnam facility to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing and supply chain performance. The role supports factory startup, production, planning, logistics, warehouse operations, quality management and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with Stäubli standards, local regulations, and customer requirements.

MOBILITY: 5%-10% of time

REPORTING LINE: Global Operations Manager Fluid Connectors

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Project Leader, Vietnam Operations Setup
  • Lead the setup and operational readiness of the Vietnam manufacturing facility.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the receiving site, transferring site, FCS Global Operations, regional management, and external partners.
  • Oversee facility readiness, production transfer, system implementation, team setup, regulatory compliance, supplier readiness, and manufacturing ramp-up.
  • Manage project governance, budget, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), risks, progress reporting, and operational handover.
  1. Manufacturing Operations
  • Coordinate daily production activities.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Support achievement of production targets and delivery commitments.
  • Assist in implementation of manufacturing best practices.
  • Support production transfers and industrialization activities.
  • Escalate operational issues and propose corrective actions.
  1. Production Planning & SIOP Support
  • Support production scheduling and capacity planning.
  • Monitor material availability for manufacturing.
  • Coordinate production priorities with planning and supply chain teams.
  • Participate in SIOP review activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages.
  1. Logistics & Warehouse
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
  • Monitor warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.
  • Support customs and import/export coordination.
  • Ensure timely shipment of customer orders.
  • Work with logistics providers to optimize delivery performance.
  1. Procurement & Supplier Coordinatio
  • Coordinate purchasing activities according to approved procedures.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding delivery commitments.
  • Support supplier onboarding and qualification activities.
  • Monitor material shortages and supply risks.
  • Assist in identifying local sourcing opportunities.

      6. Quality Management

  • Support implementation of Stäubli quality standards.
  • Monitor quality performance indicators.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support customer and internal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and documentation requirements.
  1. Manufacturing Engineering & Continuous Improvement
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing projects.
  • Assist implementation of process standardization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Support equipment installation and process validation activities.
  1. EHS(Environmental Health & Safety) Compliance
  • Promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety inspections and corrective action follow-up.
  • Support environmental and sustainability initiatives.
  1. Team Supervision and Coordination
  • Coordinate activities of production, warehouse, and operational support teams.
  • Support employee training and development.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Promote Stäubli values and target behaviors.
  • Participate in recruitment and onboarding activities.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • Approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, assembly, logistics, supply chain, production planning or industrial operations.
  • Experience working in an international or multinational manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Practical exposure to ERP systems, production reporting, inventory control, and operational KPIs.
  • Experience supporting factory start-up, production transfer, or industrialization activities is an advantage.
  • Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or problem-solving training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese; proficiency in other language(s) like Chinese Mandarin is an advantage.
