We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our R&D team for summer 2027! As the R&D Plant-based Protein Intern, you will support progression of a research project related to plant-based protein ingredient characterization. You will have the opportunity to evaluate functional characteristics of new protein ingredients and relate functionality to food and beverage application utility. This work will also give you the opportunity to include verifying nutritional characteristics including in vitro digestibility as a proxy for protein quality determination!

What you will do:

• Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of plant personnel and contractors.
• · Support safety, environmental, and quality initiatives, including performing and assisting in investigations & corrective actions ·
• Ensure workforce compliance with all plant quality procedures and guidelines
• · Support plant productivity and production scheduling requirements
• · Remove obstacles to help productivity of hourly workforce ·
• Support maintenance requirements and cost control initiatives

• · Identify and execute on improvement projects that impact the hourly workforce position

What you will bring:

• Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or other related engineering field
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
• Interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports
• Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

• Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.

Pay Range: $22-26 USD/hr

This pay rate is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
