Traffic Operations’ Signals Timing and Intersection Control Unit (STIC) seeks to hire a Community Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing evaluation reports, conducting analyses, and reviewing program plans for Vision Zero and Street Improvement Projects (SIP). The coordinator will plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate programs and projects that provide critical community services.

The candidate will support the planning, tracking, and coordination of Retiming Projects, Street Improvement Projects, Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) installations, SBS/TSP projects, Left Turn and LPI studies, and other Vision Zero initiatives. The role also includes maintaining database records for Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS).

The Community Coordinator will work closely with project managers across divisions and provide recommendations on signal timing policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include preparing correspondence, closing and archiving completed studies, tracking project tasks and milestones, responding to inquiries from internal staff and external stakeholders (including elected officials, community boards, and the general public), processing incoming communications, distributing assignments to appropriate staff, and maintaining asset tracking databases.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
