The Energy to Change the World

GE Vernova is a planned, purpose-built energy company that includes Power, Wind, and Electrification segments and is supported by its accelerator businesses. At GE Vernova, we are working to solve the world’s most pressing challenge—the energy transition. Our Gas Power business provides more advanced, cleaner, and efficient power that people depend on today while building the energy technologies of the future.

What impact you will make:

As a Process Engineering Co-op within the METEM team, you will be an active contributor to the technical processes used to manufacture critical components for the world’s most efficient gas turbines. You will apply engineering principles to stabilize and optimize non-traditional machining methods, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of precision and quality.

Depending on your background and skillset, you will support the technical development of the following areas: * Electrochemical Machining (ECM): Applying Engineering and Chemistry skills in specialized industrial electrochemistry applications, providing a foundation for future growth in battery and fuel cell manufacturing. * Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) & Fast Hole Drilling (FHD): Gaining experience in non-traditional machining technologies to support turbine nozzles and buckets.

What you will do:

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Work with complex, chemical and mechanical process equipment to identify and resolve issues that cause variation in part quality or process performance.

  • Parameter Optimization: Build intimate process knowledge to evaluate and identify areas for improvement in key process parameters to enhance performance and reduce cycle times.

  • Process Documentation: Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures to ensure stable, repeatable, and safe production.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to implement technical changes and drive direct material productivity savings.

  • Data Analysis: Use engineering data and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to evaluate process performance and lead small-scale projects to implement technical improvements.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline.

  • Accepted Majors: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong technical interest in manufacturing technology and non-traditional machining.

  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

  • Laboratory or hands-on experience with mechanical or chemical systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on technical data.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative shop environment.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Internship Term: Fall/Winter 2026 (Target Start: September 21, 2026; Target End: March 27, 2027).

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (1st Shift).

GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

  • Pay Range: $21.00/hour – $34.00/hour (Based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed).

Benefits Available to You:

  • Relocation Assistance: Reimbursement for reasonable expenditures for employees with a permanent address >50 miles from the work location.

  • Housing Allowance: Weekly allowance to help off-set living expenses for eligible students.

  • Retirement: Access to the GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after 90 days of service.

  • Employee Assistance Program: 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services.
