Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking talented individuals for a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist (Level 3 or 4) to support our Quality team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable shift.

Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required. Must submit documented evidence of certification at time of application submission.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment

  • Performs tests or inspections and collects data

  • Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations

  • Utilizes technical competencies to provide feedback on adverse trends

  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products

  • Conducts on-the-job training (OJT)

  • Adheres to Boeing policies, processes and major inspection methods procedures

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)

  • 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units

  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Eddy Current Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

  • Capable of working in confined spaces

  • Able to perform work at heights up to 50 feet above ground level with appropriate safety gear

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Eddy Current, Penetrant and/or Magnetic Particle and/or Radiography Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans

  • Digital radiography, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle experience

  • Able to fit through a 10'' X 18'' oval opening

  • Experience inspecting composite material

  • 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques

  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies  

Shift:   

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at the time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range, level 3: $68,000 - $92,000

Summary pay range, level 4: $79,900 - $108,100
