Job Purpose

VulcanForms is hiring an New Product Introduction (NPI) Planner/Expeditor as part of our Consumer Technology business. In this role, you will keep prototype and pre-production builds on schedule by planning and expediting materials for our Product Development team. Working alongside engineers, technicians, and program managers, this role ensures the right parts are in the right place at the right time so new consumer products move smoothly and on-time into production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and track material and component availability for all NPI builds against the product development schedule.
  • Identify material shortages and long-lead-time risks early, and drive resolution before they impact build dates.
  • Track and follow up on vendor commitments, proactively escalating delays and working with Procurement/Supply Chain to find alternatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day status on inbound materials tied to active development.
  • Maintain build schedules and material readiness trackers for multiple active products in development and communicate risk clearly to program leadership.
  • Support build reviews and gate/milestone meetings with up-to-date material and schedule status.
  • Coordinate logistics for prototype builds to internal labs or external build partners.
  • Work closely with NPI Engineering & Program leaders to align on part numbers, revisions, and quantities needed for each build phase.
  • Own and maintain planning documentation, trackers, and standard work for NPI material planning and expediting.
  • Maintain accurate records of part status, vendor commitments, and build history for each program.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations (production operations, production or materials planning, expediting, etc)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and shifting priorities.
  • Comfortable operating with incomplete information and ambiguity
  • ERP/PLM system experience
  • Strong communication skills - able to clearly convey risk and status to engineers, program managers, and leadership alike.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset; comfortable digging into root causes of shortages or delays.
