About this role

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and security of enterprise network infrastructure supporting manufacturing, distribution, and business operations across multiple locations. This role manages wired, wireless, WAN, SD-WAN, firewall, cloud networking, and network security technologies while supporting infrastructure modernization initiatives, automation, operational excellence, and business continuity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Network Operations & Administration:

  • Administer HPE Aruba switching and Cisco Meraki wireless infrastructure
  • Manage Fortinet firewall policies, VPN connectivity, NAT, and security services
  • Monitor network health, performance, utilization, and availability utilizing enterprise monitoring tools
  • Perform network capacity planning and lifecycle management activities
  • Maintain network diagrams, standards, and support documentation
  • Support network services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP address management.
  • Performs network fault management, isolation, troubleshooting and resolution
  •  Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance

SD-WAN & Connectivity:

  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot SD-WAN solutions across corporate and remote locations.
  • Coordinate ISP provisioning, circuit migrations, and connectivity upgrades.
  • Validate routing design, failover testing, and application performance optimization.
  •  Participate in network modernization initiatives involving WAN transformation and cloud connectivity.
  •  Assist with network integrations supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud-hosted applications
  • Participate in AI-supported operational monitoring and reporting initiatives where appropriate

Security & Compliance:

  • Support Zero Trust networking initiatives and network segmentation strategies
  • Implement and maintain network access control solutions including 802.1X authentication
  • Participate in vulnerability remediation and security audit activities
  • Monitor firewall, VPN, and network security logs for suspicious activity
  • Partner with Cybersecurity teams to address threats and compliance requirements.

 

Project & Operational Excellence:

  • Participate in infrastructure projects using established project management methodologies.
  • Support implementation of standardized deployment processes across North American facilities.
  • Collaborate with telecommunications, security, systems administration, and application teams.
  • Be a positive representative of the organization at all times
  • Assist with technology evaluations, testing, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
  • Adopt, promote and support operational excellence initiatives as identified by the organization (5S, Workplace Org Lean etc.)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 5+ years administering enterprise network infrastructure
  • 3+ years administering enterprise firewalls and VPN technologies.
  • 3+ years supporting large-scale LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN
  • Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in Computer Technology.
  • Experience with routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, or equivalent networking platforms.
  • Experience supporting network security and segmentation strategies.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues in multi-site environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 networking and cloud connectivity.
