About this role
The National Pharmacy Key Account Manager’s (KAM) primary responsibility is to develop and control the sales and relationship building activities for the assigned product portfolio (Pharmacy) in their allocated territory to achieve associated brand recognition, revenue, sales and profit targets.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within pharmacy banner groups and major chain accounts.
- Create and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of account strategies.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide regular updates on account performance and market insights to senior management.
- Drive promotional activities and marketing campaigns to increase product awareness and drive sales.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts to maximize profitability and market share.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to inform business strategy and decision-making.
Territory Analysis, Planning, Implementation & Management
- Develop and implement a strategic territory plan, including KAM planning for designated customers, which is reviewed regularly in field with your manager.
- Effectively utilise reach and frequency of calls to customers based on strategic direct and product potential.
- Develop relationships with medical and scientific Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), in particular procurement pharmacists, and other defined customers, consistent with the strategy and objectives of the business units and overall Company strategies
- Represent the company at specific continuing Pharmacy educational events, programs, medical meetings, and scientific conventions.
- Achievement of Key Performance indicators as outlined in objectives and in field reports.
- Adherence to expenses in line with set divisional budget
Knowledge and Compliance
- Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant Link Healthcare, competitors and general products
- Attend relevant industry conferences to expand knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas
- Understand the issues affecting the customers who prescribe our products and patients who use them
- Carry out your duties in adherence to GDP regulations

- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, cutting-edge practices and techniques, current publications, regulations, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Link Healthcare’s Quality Management System and Group Policies and ensure compliance at all times
- Ensure your Company related activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with a focus on OTC, pharmacy banner groups and major chain accounts.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
