About this role
Job Description:
We are seeking a Microsoft Analytics Developer to support the migration of existing Cognos reports and cubes to a Microsoft-based analytics platform and the development of new reports, dashboards, and data cubes. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, design and develop data models, and identify and monitor key performance indicators. The role will involve hands-on development and optimization of Power BI, DAX, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, and SQL Server, including semantic models, dashboards, reports, data warehouses, security models, and performance optimization. The consultant will also be responsible for data validation, reconciliation, data quality, production support, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and user training. The role requires strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, the ability to work with users at different levels, and the flexibility to support infrastructure, data migration, and cloud migration activities as required.
Requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Power BI development, including DAX
- Strong data modeling, data design, management, and visualization
- Advanced SQL Server and complex SQL development
- Hands-on experience with SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services)
- Hands-on experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
- Hands-on experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
- Experience developing and managing data warehouses
- Experience with Tabular or Multidimensional Cubes
- Experience implementing Data/Row-Level Security
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality
- Power BI semantic models, dashboards, reports, and performance optimization
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Experience working with BI business requirements, KPIs, and data models
- Strong business analysis, stakeholder communication, and client management skills
- Ability to provide technical documentation, training, and production support
- Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS or Informatica
- Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Cognos Report Studio, Tableau, or Cognos
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business users
