Position Summary:
Provides administrative leadership to Volunteer Services at Parkwest Medical Center, Peninsula Hospital, and Fort Sanders West.
Responsibilities
- Works with hospital leadership to identify and respond to staffing needs which may be met by volunteers.
- Provides volunteers for various fund raising programs and projects.
- Supervises adult and college volunteer programs.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining procedures, policies, and job descriptions for each volunteer work area.
- Promotes volunteer programs and recruits additional volunteers.
- Responsible for staffing and evaluations of employed persons in department.
- Organizes and presents at quarterly volunteer meetings.
- Responsible for management of volunteer newsletter.
- Handles disciplinary problems and complaints related to volunteers.
- Serves on committees and teams as requested.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High school and some post high school/vocational specialized training required
Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of hospital experience that includes supervisory experience required.
