DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager will also lead monthly statistical performance reviews with Business Unit and Regional teams and coordinate user requirements, enhancements and incidents with the Anaplan system team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible to:

Operational statistical forecasting governance

  • Run the monthly statistical forecasting operating cycle in alignment with the Anaplan calendar, agreed controls and Demand Planning standards.
  • Validate that statistical forecasts meet approved requirements for data completeness, forecast generation, demand-pattern classification, algorithm selection, parameter settings, outlier treatment, non-negative output and forecast release.
  • Identify exceptions and performance gaps, coordinate root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions with the appropriate business or system owner.

Monthly statistical review and stakeholder coordination

  • Organize and facilitate a monthly statistical review with Regional Demand Planning teams, including agenda, pre-read, data preparation, decisions, minutes and action tracking.
  • Review MAPE, Bias, Forecast Value Add, statistical adherence, forecast stability, segmentation performance and key product or market exceptions.
  • Translate review findings into prioritized actions with clear owners and due dates, and escalate material risks or unresolved decisions to the Demand Planning Process & Capabilities Lead.

Statistical performance and continuous improvement

  • Monitor statistical forecast performance across Business Units, Regions, markets and products, with an exception-based focus on the highest-impact gaps.
  • Support reviews of corrected history, outliers, forecast history windows, algorithm and parameter choices, segmentation and touch-policy alignment.
  • Recommend practical improvements that increase forecast accuracy and stability, reduce non-value-added touches and strengthen confidence in the statistical baseline.

Demand segmentation and statistical adherence

  • Support periodic validation of demand segmentation and confirm that statistical models and review cadence align with smooth, intermittent, erratic and lumpy demand patterns.
  • Monitor adherence to Stat-Led, High Touch and No Touch policies, distinguishing justified business events from non-value-added baseline overrides.
  • Partner with Regional teams to confirm that the right products are assigned to the right segments and that actions are completed within the agreed planning cycle.

User requirements, incidents and enhancements

  • Own the operational intake and central register for user-reported statistical forecasting requirements, Anaplan incidents, defects and enhancement requests.
  • Clarify the business need, document the problem statement, impact, priority, expected outcome and acceptance criteria, and remove duplicate or incomplete requests.
  • Coordinate triage, prioritization, testing, release readiness and user communication with the Anaplan system team; maintain status visibility through closure and confirm that delivered solutions meet requirements.
  • Deliver targeted training, office hours or knowledge-sharing sessions that improve user capability and adoption of agreed statistical planning ways of working.

Reporting, controls and collaboration

  • Maintain clear, accurate and timely performance reporting for operational and leadership reviews, using approved data sources and definitions.
  • Track actions, decisions, risks, incidents and enhancement progress, and provide transparent status updates to stakeholders.
  • Build effective working relationships across Global, Business Unit, Regional and Market Demand Planning teams and the Anaplan system team to support consistent execution.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Research or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • APICS/ASCM, IBF or comparable forecasting, planning, project or agile certification is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of statistical forecasting concepts, including time-series models, intermittent demand, outlier treatment, forecast accuracy, Bias, Forecast Value Add, demand segmentation and touch-policy governance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate operational issues into clear business and system requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Demand Planning, statistical forecasting, S&OP/IBP, planning analytics, process excellence or planning-system capability roles.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing statistical forecast outputs and performance, diagnosing exceptions and coordinating corrective actions with planners, analysts and technical teams.
  • Experience with advanced planning applications; Anaplan experience is strongly preferred, while exposure to Blue Yonder, APO, OMP or comparable platforms is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience managing requirement intake, incident or defect logs, enhancement backlogs, prioritization, user acceptance testing and release follow-up.
  • Proven ability to lead recurring operational review meetings and communicate complex analytical or technical topics clearly to global, regional and cross-functional audiences.
  • Experience working in a global, virtual and matrixed organization; MedTech or another regulated industry is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of demand planning processes, monthly planning cycles and the interaction between statistical, base and consensus forecasts.
  • Ability to analyse large datasets, identify patterns and root causes, and convert insights into practical actions and system requirements.
  • Disciplined issue, risk and action management, with strong attention to data quality, control effectiveness and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, meeting facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative and service-oriented mindset, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence without direct authority.
