Medical Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily ward rounds and assess admitted patients.
• Monitor vital signs, clinical status, and treatment response.
• Take detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Implement treatment plans as advised by consultants.
• Write and maintain accurate patient case sheets, progress notes, and medical records.
• Review laboratory reports, investigations, and other diagnostic findings.
• Identify clinical deterioration and promptly inform the concerned consultant.
• Handle medical emergencies and initiate basic life support (BLS) as required.
• Coordinate with nursing staff regarding medication administration and patient care.
• Prepare discharge summaries and assist with referrals and transfers.
• Ensure proper documentation of admissions, treatment, and discharge.
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control practices, and patient safety standards.
• Communicate with patients and their relatives regarding routine care, within the scope of responsibility.
• Perform shift duties, including night duties, as per the hospital roster.

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
• Valid registration with the relevant State Medical Council or National Medical Register, as applicable.
• Good clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Knowledge of emergency management and basic life support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, and hospital staff.
