About this role

At ReLogic Research, you won’t be just another headcount. We are a tight-knit team of engineers, physicists, and technical professionals solving some of the most complex challenges in national defense and we are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Test Engineer who thrives in a lab or government test facility environment and takes pride in getting hardware ready to test and data ready to deliver.

As an AS9100D-certified small business supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Missile Defense Agency, our test capabilities span materials characterization, component evaluation, and support for highly specialized government test facilities. This is a hands-on role. You will be assembling test articles, installing instrumentation, executing tests, and working directly alongside engineers at some of the most advanced test facilities in the country.

If you are the kind of person who is equally comfortable with a torque wrench and a data acquisition system, ReLogic is where you belong.

Primary Responsibilities

Support test activities at ReLogic facilities and highly specialized government test facilities including assembly and preparation of test articles
Install and verify instrumentation on test samples and components including strain gages, thermocouples, heat flux gauges, and other sensors as required
Execute mechanical and thermal tests on materials and components working from engineer-defined test plans and procedures
Support configuration and operation of test equipment including Instron load frames and data acquisition systems
Perform post-test inspections and support data compilation and analysis reporting
Maintain test equipment including coordination of calibrations, upgrades, and repairs
Support integration activities and on-site test support at government and contractor facilities
Work closely with engineers to understand test objectives, interpret results, and identify anomalies

Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience in a test, laboratory, or mechanical assembly environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hardware in a lab or test facility setting
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test procedures
Experience installing and working with instrumentation including thermocouples, strain gages, or similar sensors
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
Experience operating universal test machines such as Instron, MTS, or equivalent load frames
Experience with Instron BlueHill Universal software or similar data acquisition systems
Experience conducting tension, compression, flexural, or custom mechanical tests on materials and components
Experience with composite materials including layup, cure, fabrication, and testing
Experience with ASTM standard test methods and custom test setups
Experience supporting thermal protection system qualification testing for hypersonic or high-speed missile applications including arc jet, radiant heating, or high heat flux test environments
Experience working at government test facilities such as AEDC, AFRL, or NASA test centers
Familiarity with AS9100D quality management requirements and test documentation standards

This is a full-time salaried position with highly competitive compensation based on experience and skills, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth. Approximately 20% travel is expected.
