Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will provide on-site supervision and technical expertise for mechanical systems in building construction projects. You will oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment while ensuring compliance with local building codes and international standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex mechanical systems in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation activities on construction sites, ensuring work meets design specifications and quality standards
  • Inspect mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems to verify proper installation and functionality
  • Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify potential issues and develop solutions
  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed reports on project progress, compliance, and any deviations from plans
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements throughout all construction phases
  • Troubleshoot mechanical system issues and implement corrective actions promptly
  • Maintain organized documentation including inspection records, test reports, and commissioning data
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders regarding site conditions and project status
  • Participate in equipment commissioning and handover procedures to ensure systems operate as designed
  • Manage and mentor on-site mechanical teams to maintain high performance standards

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical preferred
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 8 years in building construction site supervision
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in commercial and residential buildings (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.)
  • Experience preparing technical reports and construction documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment
  • Experience with construction projects in the United Arab Emirates
