Mechanical Engineer
About this role
ZEUS Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Construction Department and contribute to the supervision, construction and technical management of MEP projects. The role requires a strong on-site presence and the ability to read and review drawings and installations, as well as effectively coordinate work crews and subcontractors.
THE ROLE
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the technical monitoring and inspection of the project’s mechanical installations, from preparation and construction through testing, commissioning and final handover.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide daily technical supervision of MEP works on site.
· Ensure compliance with approved studies, drawings and technical specifications.
· Read and review mechanical drawings, shop drawings and as-built drawings.
· Monitor and coordinate HVAC, water supply, drainage, fire protection, fire detection, pumping stations, boiler rooms, plant rooms and other MEP installations.
· Coordinate work crews and subcontractors and monitor daily progress of works.
· Inspect materials and equipment prior to procurement and installation.
· Review quantities, measurements and work certifications.
· Monitor project schedules and promptly identify delays or deviations.
· Review technical deviations and collaborate on appropriate solutions.
· Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, electrical engineers and other technical teams to ensure effective coordination of installations.
· Review requirements for openings, sleeves, shafts, suspended ceilings, floors and technical spaces in coordination with other trades.
· Monitor pressure, leakage and operational tests, as well as other required inspections.
· Participate in the commissioning and testing of MEP installations.
· Review and compile technical documentation and as-built drawings for project handover.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University / Technological Educational Institute or equivalent).
· Very good knowledge of AutoCAD.
· Strong ability to read and interpret MEP drawings.
· Good knowledge of technical specifications and construction processes.
· Very good command of MS Office, with particular emphasis on Excel.
· Ability to work on site on a daily basis.
· Valid driving licence.
· Good command of English technical terminology.
