About this role
Black Bros. Co. is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to assemble, install, and fit mechanical components used in both standard and custom industrial equipment. This position will primarily focus on mechanical assembly but will also perform some electrical and wiring tasks. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, is comfortable working with hand and power tools, and can follow drawings and work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and equipment according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Install and align shafts, bearings, motors, guards, and other components
- Drill, tap, cut, fit, and modify parts as needed during assembly
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other shop equipment
- Perform basic electrical assembly tasks, including installing electrical components and assisting with wiring
- Follow mechanical drawings, assembly prints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions
- Test completed assemblies for proper operation and make necessary adjustments
- Identify and report material, quality, or assembly issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- Previous mechanical assembly, manufacturing, maintenance, or related experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, prints, and work instructions
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge or wiring experience is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to learn additional mechanical and electrical skills on the job
