Maternity Cover: Accounts Coordinator

Hydro Group manufactures bespoke subsea cable and connector assembly engineering for the oil and gas, marine renewable energy and defence industries.

We are certified to ISO 9001 and 14001:2015 to design and manufacture subsea electrical and optical connectors, electrical pressure hull penetrators, associated subsea electrical cable terminations, installation of electrical and optical connectors, specialist underwater and harsh environment electrical and optical composite cables, tethers and umbilicals. Our products are precision-engineered to withstand the harshest environmental conditions.

This position is for circa 6 months Maternity Cover

Position Summary

Hydro Group are looking for an Accounts Coordinator to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team, financial controller, and management team. The role will be to support the manufacturing accounts process by posting WIP and stock transactions, supporting the sales and purchase ledger roles. This individual will play a key role in supporting internal stakeholders as the business is in an exciting growth period and successfully expands its services and capabilities.

Qualifications

Education:

Essential:

• HNC/HND/University Graduate.

Desirable:

• Part qualified or qualified by experience would be an advantage.

Skills Base

Essential:

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective team working ability as well as being able to work alone on own initiative.
• Demonstrate eagerness to develop and learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage workload to meet daily demands.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience of working to strict month end deadlines.
• Experience of working with complex excel spreadsheets and knowledge of advanced excel formulas.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a multi-currency environment would be an advantage.

Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of WIP (work in progress)
• Working knowledge of job costing

Job Responsibilities

• Manufacturing accounts, checking and posting of manufacturing hours logged and stock transactions.
• Monthly stock reconciliation.
• Costs of sales journals.
• Gross margin checking and reporting.
• Support with preparing budgets.
• Bank reconciliations (GBP & USD).
• Monthly reporting on NCR costs to stakeholders.
• Ensure documents are electronically filed on a timely and accurate basis.
• Meeting month end deadline of completing transactions and reconciliations.
• Ad hoc purchase ledger/sales ledger support – holiday/absence cover.
• Assisting with answering incoming accounts calls.
• Assisting with year end audit as required.
