Material Handler(Equipment Operator) - LTL Dock
About this role
- Safely load and unload trucks while following established procedures and safety requirements.
- Put away incoming freight accurately and efficiently.
- Replenish inventory and orders as needed to support operational requirements.
- Supply departments with required packaging materials, including cardboard boxes and bags.
- Transport finished goods to designated shipping locations.
- Use material handling equipment, including cherry pickers and tri-loaders, to move products and materials safely.
- Perform material handling activities such as banding, wrapping, counting, pushing, pulling, and manually moving materials when required.
- Utilize handheld RF scanners to process inventory transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through routine housekeeping activities.
- Follow all company, federal, state, and local safety regulations while operating equipment and performing job duties.
- Meet established quality, attendance, and productivity expectations.
- Support onboarding and training efforts by assisting new team members.
- Identify shipment discrepancies, cross-system issues, and process concerns and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.

- Willingness to work frequently on and off powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to read shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, and identify discrepancies.
- General knowledge of shipping classification codes.
- Understanding of shipping standards, regulations, and shipping processes.
- Ability to recognize and resolve cross-system processing issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use system software to determine the most effective method for processing shipments.
- Ability and willingness to lift, move, push, and pull materials as required.
- Proficiency in using handheld RF scanners.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE) systems.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, or logistics environments.
- Experience operating powered industrial equipment in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
