About this role

Role Overview 

Supports the Cincinnati 2 machine shop by maintaining the continuous flow of materials, work-in-process, and machined parts throughout the manufacturing process. Ensures machinists have the materials and parts they need to maintain production flow and moves completed parts through required downstream processes, including deburring, dewaxing, and Shipping and Receiving when applicable. Contributes to a safe, organized, and efficient machine shop environment.


What You’ll Do...

  • Follow manufacturing procedures, travelers, and work instructions 
  • Deliver raw materials, components, and work-in-process to machinists as needed
  • Monitor material and part flow throughout the machine shop to help prevent production delays
  • Collect completed parts from machinists and move them to the appropriate next process
  • Transport parts to deburring and dewaxing operations when applicable
  • Move processed parts to designated staging areas and ultimately to Shipping and Receiving
  • Properly identify, stage, and organize materials and work-in-process to maintain product traceability
  • Verify materials and parts are moved to the correct location and correspond to the appropriate job or work order
  • Handle and transport machined parts carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or mix-ups
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, staging, and movement of materials throughout Cincinnati 2
  • Accurately complete required material movement, production, and inventory transactions
  • Communicate material shortages, misplaced parts, damaged product, or other issues that could impact production
  • Maintain clean, organized, and accessible material staging areas using 5S principles
  • Safely operate material-handling equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts as authorized
  • Support machinists and production personnel in meeting team production goals while maintaining quality standards
  • Follow all safety, quality, security, and material-handling procedures

You have...

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required

Experience

  • Typically requires little to no related experience
  • Manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation experience preferred

  • Experience with ERP or MES systems

Physical Requirements

  • Remain in a standing or sitting stationary position for 5–6 hours per day (1–2 hours at one time) 
  • Move about the manufacturing facility for 5–6 hours per day (1–2 hours at one time) 
  • Occasionally lift or carry between 26–45 pounds and frequently lift or carry up to 10 pounds 
  • Occasionally push or pull between 26–45 pounds and frequently push or pull up to 10 pounds 
  • Occasionally reach at, below, or above shoulder level 
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle materials, tools, and equipment 
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, and squat 
  • Frequently perform keyboard and computer work to enter production data and complete documentation 
  • Occasionally climb stairs or ladders 
  • Effectively communicate in person and through telephone or other electronic devices 
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) 
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to identify minor defects during inspection and manufacturing operations
