The Manufacturing Supervisor provides support in making sure that their facility and department employees are compliant with local and state laws, as well as company policies and procedures. This role will support the Director of Manufacturing and the Infused Product Manager in all activities related to the extraction, refinement, formulation, and infused product manufacturing within the facility.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversee day-to-day extraction and refinement operations and ensure a safe, efficient, productive and positive work environment 
  • Assist Director of Manufacturing with process development and improvements, equipment selection and installation of extraction and refinement equipment in collaboration with vendors and partners
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned as required
  • Maintain batch records for all raw materials and in-process materials in all tracking systems  
  • Manage raw materials and coordinate material and resource allocation
  • Create and manage daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules to meet company needs
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for monitoring operational efficiency of extraction and refinement for employees
  • Works directly with Infused Product Manager to ensure formulations meet all requirements for compliance, stability, safety, and desired interests by Director of Manufacturing
  • Responsible for the formulation and primary packaging of cannabis infused products to meet site goals.
  • Prepares, operates, and maintains formulation and other manufacturing equipment.  
  • Maintains written and digital inventory records for all raw materials and production batches.
  • Manage raw materials and coordinate resource allocation within Manufacturing team.  
  • Hire, train and hold team members accountable to company standards
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, local and state governing bodies, OSHA and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • Ensure utilization of all internal tracking systems, ERP, QMS, and seed-to-sale software to ensure consistent products and high-quality control
  • Partner with technology and compliance team to ensure efficient regulatory compliance for all manufacturing related activities (document records, inventory counts, etc.) 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Manufacturing, Engineering or similar field, or at least 2 years of experience in cannabis manufacturing 
  • Experience with hydrocarbon extraction and CO2 extraction preferred
  • 2 plus years of experience managing production, staff, and resources in a commercial manufacturing operation  
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve manufacturing objectives in terms of volume, product mix, cost, and quality
  • Knowledge of GMP and Environmental Health and Safety rules and regulations required.  
  • Extensive knowledge of extraction and chemical processing techniques  
  • Previous commercial cannabis extraction experience preferred.
  • Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, and Excel with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must pass a drug and criminal background check
  • Previous experience in medical cannabis industry (preferred) 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The job is performed indoors in a traditional laboratory setting. Exposure to chemicals and laboratory agents is expected. Protective safety clothing, goggles, gloves, facemasks, and hairnets are required as needed. Activities include extended periods of sitting or standing and extensive work using laboratory and packaging equipment and machinery.
