Due to continued growth across our Commercial Aircraft Group, Moog is expanding its Manufacturing Engineering team.

Moog Commercial Aircraft Group Tewkesbury is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components across a range of materials. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with machining and CAD/CAM experience who is looking to further develop their career within a highly regulated aerospace environment.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience using a range of CAD/CAM platforms. Training on Siemens NX can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes focused on quality, cost and delivery.
  • Create machining processes for complex components with tight tolerances using CAD/CAM software.
  • Select cutting tools, design fixtures and produce shop documentation.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including Design for Manufacture (DfM) reviews.
  • Lead and support process improvement projects, ensuring minimal downtime within the machine shop.
  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design changes to enhance productivity and standardisation.
  • Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations teams to achieve business objectives.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a precision machining environment
  • 5 Axis Milling and/or Millturn Background
  • CAD/CAM programming experience using Siemens NX, CATIA, Mastercam, Edgecam, FeatureCAM, PartMaker or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Aerospace, Automotive, defence, medical or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.
  • PFMEA experience.
  • Siemens NX experience.
  • 5 Axis Milling (Okuma MU4000V or equivalent) and Mill turn (Mazak I100, I200 or DMG NTX 1000)
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Exposure to advanced manufacturing processes.
