About this role

As a Manufacturing Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a key role in supporting repair and overhaul engineering efforts to optimize production processes and ensure product quality as well as develop innovative and reliable repair solutions for mechanical components and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and repairs as well as support manufacturing objectives related to cost, quality, and delivery.

You will report directly to our Repair and Overhaul Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on an On-site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing operations. In addition, you will develop repair solutions that meet stringent quality and performance standards for cutting-edge aerospace technologies, contributing to cost savings, enhanced product quality, and timely delivery to meet customer expectations.

  • Support manufacturing engineering efforts by assisting in process development and optimization to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, design, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist in documentation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Lead and drive the repair development process, from concept to implementation by designing and developing repairs for complex mechanical components and systems.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense industries
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality systems relevant to aerospace production
  • Experience with process design and improvement methodologies including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with manufacturing software tools such as CAD for process layout and ERP systems for production planning
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to define acceptable variations in mechanical parts.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation and standard operating procedures

 

WE VALUE

  • Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field is a plus
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing standards and certification processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Knowledge of automation technologies and data analytics applied to manufacturing processes
