What Your Impact Is

  • Lead archaeological field programs under Heritage Inspection, Heritage Investigation, and Site Alteration Permits.
  • Oversee research, artifact analysis, and reporting for cultural heritage assessments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and regulatory agencies, representing ERM with professionalism and expertise.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand ERM’s archaeology and cultural heritage services across Western Canada.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet client needs and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in archaeology and cultural heritage.
  • Current permit holder in British Columbia. Field Directors will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to lead field programs and complete research projects.
  • Strong communication, writing, and computer skills.
  • Travel will be required.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.  
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • Permit holding in other provinces/territories.
  • Demonstrated business development experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage archaeological field programs under applicable permits.
  • Conduct literature reviews, artifact analysis, and cataloguing.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and deliverables for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Represent ERM at meetings with provincial, territorial, and federal agencies.
  • Support growth of ERM’s archaeology and cultural heritage practice through technical excellence and client engagement.

For the Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist position, the anticipated annual base pay is $90,719 - $109,970 (CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
