Job Description :

Role Purpose:

Lead Diageo India's Sustainable Operations agenda by identifying, developing and executing high-impact water, energy, carbon, circularity and resource-efficiency projects across Own- and Third-party operations.

 

The role combines engineering expertise, project execution, commercial thinking and innovation to deliver measurable sustainability outcomes while improving operational efficiency, supply resilience and ESG performance. The individual will be responsible for developing a continuous pipeline of sustainability projects and positioning Diageo India as an industry leader through innovative manufacturing sustainability solutions.

About the Function:    


Supply Chain & Manufacturing is where our brands are made, moved and delivered to the world.

With over half of our people working across more than 100 sites, this is a complex, large-scale operation that brings together production, logistics, engineering and supplier partnerships.

It’s fast-paced and hands-on, with teams working together to ensure quality, efficiency and sustainability at every stage. From sourcing ingredients to getting products into customers’ hands, you’ll play a role in delivering the brands people know and love.


About the role: 


Sustainable Operations Excellence

  • Lead the technical sustainability roadmap across Diageo India manufacturing operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve water, energy, utilities, carbon and resource efficiency across all manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and implement annual water and carbon reduction roadmaps aligned with F30 ambitions.
  • Support manufacturing teams in delivering operational sustainability KPIs.

 

Water Stewardship & Resource Efficiency

  • Lead water efficiency improvement initiatives across Own- and Third-party operations.
  • Develop water balance studies and identify opportunities for reduction, reuse and recycling.
  • Drive rainwater harvesting, Water Independence and Water Positive initiatives.
  • Provide technical support for Water Stewardship certification programs.
  • Identify and replicate best practices across manufacturing locations.

 

Energy Transition & Decarbonisation

  • Lead implementation of GHG decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Identify and execute energy efficiency opportunities across utilities and production processes.
  • Develop renewable energy projects including solar, wind, BESS and other emerging technologies.
  • Support diesel replacement and alternative energy solutions.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve energy performance.

 

Sustainability Innovation & Future Technologies

  • Evaluate emerging technologies related to water, energy, carbon, packaging and waste.
  • Develop pilot projects and business cases for first-of-their-kind sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with established technology providers, start-ups, consultants and research institutions to bring new solutions into the business.

 

Project Development & Commercialisation

  • Develop feasibility studies and business cases for investments. Prepare CAPEX and OPEX proposals with financial justification and ROI analysis.
  • Manage end-to-end execution of sustainability projects including planning, vendor management, implementation, commissioning and benefits validation.
  • Track financial and environmental savings delivered through projects.


Stakeholder Management

Internal: Manufacturing, Engineering, Utilities, Finance, EHS, Supply Leadership Team.

External: Technology providers, consultants, Industry associations, Academic and research institutions, Utility and renewable energy partners.
