About the role

As Manager Software within GBAD Command & Control, you will lead and develop software organizations delivering mission-critical capabilities that make a real difference.

 

This is a role for someone who is passionate about both people and technology. You understand software development from the inside, perhaps because you have previously worked as a developer, architect, or technical lead yourself. Over time, you discovered that your greatest impact comes from enabling others to succeed.

 

As a leader, you create the conditions for high-performing teams through trust, clarity, and collaboration. You understand that sustainable delivery is built by engaged people, strong engineering practices, and a shared sense of purpose.

 

You will be part of the SW Development Management Team and play a key role in shaping our software strategy, engineering culture, and ways of working.


Your role

  • Lead, coach, and develop software engineers and team leaders.
  • Create an environment where people can thrive, grow, and perform at their best.
  • Drive excellence in software development, quality, architecture, and delivery.
  • Foster agile ways of working, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Support technical decision-making and promote sustainable engineering practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, systems engineering, and customers.
  • Build long-term organizational capability through recruitment, competence development, and succession planning.

Your profile

  • A background in software development and a genuine interest in modern software engineering.
  • Several years of leadership experience within software development or technology-driven organizations.
  • Experience working with complex software-intensive products and systems.
  • A solid understanding of Agile principles, DevOps, CI/CD, and product-oriented development.
  • The ability to engage in meaningful discussions with developers, architects, and technical leaders.
  • An MSc/BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
