Job Description

  • Lead the workforce planning team responsible for rostering and training planning across Australia, New  Zealand and international operations.
  • Influence workforce decisions that directly impact crew experience, operational performance, compliance and network resilience.
  • Build and empower a high-performing team culture where accountability, ownership and development drive exceptional results.

As the Manager, Roster & Training (Tech), you'll lead the team responsible for delivering the monthly Pilot roster and training build that supports more than 2,000 crew across Australia, New Zealand and international operations. The decisions made by your team have a direct impact on operational performance, crew experience, compliance and the overall resilience of the Jetstar network.

This is a highly influential leadership role where you'll combine workforce planning expertise, operational decision-making and people leadership to build rosters that balance the needs of our crew with the demands of a dynamic airline operation. Working closely with the Pilot leadership team, Workforce Planning peers and frontline crew, you'll help shape workforce outcomes that enable safe, reliable and efficient operations every day.

Beyond delivering great planning outcomes, you'll play a key role in building an empowered and high-performing team culture, developing capability and creating an environment where people are trusted to take ownership and deliver results.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the monthly Pilot roster and training build, ensuring rosters are optimised, compliant and delivered on time.
  • Guide workforce planning decisions that balance operational resilience, crew engagement, cost efficiency and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and develop the Roster Planning and Training Planning teams, building capability, accountability and succession strength.
  • Foster an empowered team environment where individuals are trusted to make decisions, solve problems and deliver outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Pilot leadership team and key operational stakeholders to influence workforce planning outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage with frontline crew through forums and focus groups, ensuring planning decisions are informed by operational realities and crew feedback.
  • Drive improvements to rostering, training planning and workforce planning processes to support operational performance and crew experience.

There’s a place for everyone at Jetstar: For us, travel and meeting new people go hand in hand. We invite our people to get involved in various Employee Network Groups that play an important role in creating our inclusive and supportive culture that we are fiercely proud of.  We believe that teams with a diversity of ideas and experiences are more creative, innovative and solve problems quickly.  We welcome applications from anyone who wants to take off with us.  If you have support or access requirements, just reach out and let us know what you need.

With the support of your manager, let’s start a conversation about making your next move.

To be considered, key skills will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, rostering, scheduling or resource planning within a complex operational environment.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and make informed operational decisions.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of building engaged, accountable and high-performing teams.
  • A coaching leadership style, with the ability to develop capability and empower others rather than becoming the solution to every challenge.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across frontline and leadership groups.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, tight deadlines and changing operational requirements.
  • A strong understanding of workforce compliance, Enterprise Agreements or similar industrial frameworks.
  • Experience within aviation, airline operations or workforce-intensive industries will be highly regarded.

Applications close on Sunday 11th October 2026.
