Make Someone’s Week – Join Our Volunteer Team!


Social volunteering with people living with dementia is all about kindness, patience, and connection. By taking the time to listen, going at their pace, and meeting them where they are, volunteers can help residents feel comfortable, valued, and included. Often, it's the simple things, a friendly chat, a shared smile, or sitting together, that help someone feel connected and brighten their day.


As a Social Visitor, you’ll spend time one‑on‑one or in small groups, creating genuine connection and heartfelt moments that brighten the day for residents… and often for you too.


Whether you’re into sports, art, gardening, pets, baking, yoga, music, movies, or simply enjoying a chat over coffee —there’s someone who would love to share that moment with you.



Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

We're looking for some friendly Weekday volunteers to provide one-hour visits between 9:30am–11:30am or 1:00–4:30pm on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (weekly or fortnightly) • Seeking applicants who can attend regularly during a 6 month commitment 

18 years and over •  NDIS screening arranged and paid for by HammondCare •
